Monkey: Really anot? Nowadays everything so difficult you know. I only get paid peanuts!
Elephant: But you like peanuts. Haha… joking lah. What goes down must come up right?
Monkey: Hmm… Anyway, got peanuts better than no peanuts!
Elephant: That’s right!
You probably may have seen this TV commercial a couple of times. This is part of the “Positive thinking for a healthy mind” campaign 2009. What are your thoughts about this commercial?
In the recent downfall of some big corporate players, the employment market is in some kind of a turmoil, where companies are scrambling through their rounds of cost cutting measures, layoffs and downsizing. Perhaps we should feel lucky that we are still employed with a salary. However, as a young adult who is currently trying to carve out a career, I am definitely not satisfied at earning just peanuts.
I hope to use this blog to share some of my thoughts and notes on personal finances. Hopefully one day, I’ll become a fatsomonkey.
